Excavator
electrical system maintenance takes on many
forms at different mine properties. DCS field
personnel have had the opportunity to be exposed
to many different mine properties and, therefore,
many different maintenance approaches. This
allows us to offer a well developed, yet flexible,
inspection to compliment customers' existing
maintenance programs.
DCS
offers customers a customized audit and/or inspection
program, based on the mine’s needs. These
may include all or parts of the following activities:
Recording of motion volt-amp (X-Y) plots utilizing
DCS developed AccuPlot software, performing
motion regulator and rotating equipment tune-ups,
recording of dynamic electrical parameters critical
to optimal excavator performance, performing
visual observations of rotating equipment during
operation; performing visual inspection of de-energized
critical rotating equipment and electrical apparatus,
infrared thermal imaging, vibration recordings,
and providing a report summary of accumulated
data and findings.
DCS recommends quarterly performance inspections,
as this allows for capturing conditions before
they may develop into unscheduled downtime due
to premature equipment failures.
DCS
personnel can then provide immediate corrective
action, if adverse conditions are found. This
inspection can act as an audit providing for
development of a maintenance action item listing
along with providing benchmark data of the critical
operating electrical parameters. Benchmark data
supports troubleshooting activities for onsite
personnel along with providing reference and
trending information.
